Members of the council serve to share responsibility with the pastor in carrying out the mission of the church and to provide a channel of communication between the clergy, the parish and the community at large. There are council positions that focus on service, communication, education, event planning and other aspects of parish life. Offices are open to all registered parishioners age 19 and older who possess a desire to serve. The council meets every second Monday of the Month.

Stephen Alemán, Chair at Large
Stephen and his family joined Holy Rosary parish in 2012 after moving into the Donelson Hills area. He enjoys singing in the choir with his wife Jennifer on most Sundays. Their two sons, Jesse and Tristan, also sing in the Joy and Cherub choirs and attend the CCD program. Stephen joined the parish council in 2016 hoping to apply his creative problem solving and technology skills in service of the parish community. Stephen is a licensed Auctioneer and currently serves as Director of Marketing for Sims Commercial Realtors and Auctioneers, LLC.
Kay Baker, Social Action Chair
Kay Baker has been a member of this parish since 1981 when she moved here from Charlotte, NC. Formerly in HVAC sales and most recently retired as Director of Religious Education at Holy Rosary. Kay and her husband Lee have two sons, now parents of their 7 grandchildren. Both sons attended Holy Rosary Academy. Kay currently is learning to enjoy retirement and volunteering at HR.
Mike Huffman, Social Action Vice-Chair
Mike's parents were founding parishioners of Holy Rosary and were married in the original church in 1963. Mike was baptized at Holy Rosary days after his birth in 1964 and received his early sacraments here, attended CCD, and served as altar boy for Father Bevington, and Father Strobel. When he was 12 or 13, Mike's family was one of several who were asked to move to what would eventually become St. Stephens's church. The experience of being a part of a new church, led by Father Bob Roser, that met in a barn and an old farm house, brought Mike closer to the church, and to God. After going away to college, he came back to Nashville and started attending Holy Rosary again. His first marriage came in Holy Rosary and his daughter attended CCD here. Mike attends 8:30 mass every Sunday and drives every week for Room in the Inn. He has served on parish councils at other parishes several times before and decided to join Holy Rosary's council out of love for his longtime home parish I have a good relationship with Frank Davenport and I Love Holy Rosary.Mike is the owner of Donelson Auto Clinic which was founded by his father in 1969.
Erin Mullican, Communications Vice-Chair
Erin Mullican and her family joined Holy Rosary Parish in 2008 after moving to the Nashville area from Virginia. Erin and her husband Bryan have 4 children, Clare, 10, Nathan, 8, George, 5 and Simon, 2. The 3 oldest attend Holy Rosary Academy. Erin is a full time stay at home mom who is passionate about helping her church, community and other groups. She is currently active in her MOPS [Mothers of Preschoolers] group, volunteering at Holy Rosary church and academy and has recently started her own business as a Plunder Jewelry Stylist. Erin looks forward to working with the Parish Council to improve the way the parish communicates with its members and visitors.
Joe Pagetta, Communications Chair
Born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he went to Catholic grammar school, high school AND college, Joe Pagetta has been a Nashvillian for almost 20 years. He currently resides in Donelson with his wife, Keri, and twin daughters. They've been members of Holy Rosary Catholic Church since 2014, and Joe been on the parish council since 2015. Professionally, he is a writer and communications professional with two decades of experience in journalism, marketing and publicity. In 2009, for his efforts at Nashville Public Television and the Nashville Film Festival, he was named the Best PR Guy in Nashville by Jim Ridley in the Nashville Scene. He is currently the director of NowPlayingNashville.com for The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, where he also works on The Big Payback and the GivingMatters.com initiatives.
Rebecca Soto, Education Vice-Chair
Rebecca has been an "official" member of Holy Rosary since 2006 but has been around since 1995. She attends with her husband and son, who is a student at HRA. Becca has served as a CCD teacher and continues to serve on the VBS team as well as Children's Liturgy. Becca is a teacher by profession and is looking forward to serving the parish in a new way.
Cathy Spelta Sisco, Parish Life Vice-Chair
Cathy joined Holy Rosary Catholic Church in 2003. Her parents grew up in East Nashville and both attended Holy Name Grade School in East Nashville, Father Ryan and Cathedral High School downtown. Her first memories of attending church were Sundays at Holy Name with Fr Charles Strobel officiating. Cathy attended St Henry's and Father Ryan. Her two sons attended St Ignatus Mothers Day Out in Antioch. And she spent more than 10 years keeping a class at St Ignatus MDO. And attending church at St Ignatus before moving to Donelson where both her sons attended Holy Rosary Academy. While at Holy Rosary she has put her love of cooking and feeding people to use with Loaves and Fishes, Bereavement, and Room at the Inn. More recently joining the prison ministry and becoming a lector. And looks forward to learning a new role helping out on the parish council. She and her previous husband own and continue to operate a construction and remodeling company together in Nashville for 15 years.
Jan Stermin, Education Chair
Jan Stermin is the Chair of the Education Committee. Jan and her husband Guy joined Holy Rosary Parish in 2011, moving to Nashville after their retirement in order to be closer to their daughter and her family, who are also members of the Parish. Jan brings over 20 years of catechetical and public speaking experience that she wanted to put towards service to God’s people. She is involved in the Religious Education program on Sunday mornings, preparing students for Confirmation, as well as being part of the Vacation Bible School team, and assisting with the Adult Bible Study programs. Jan joined the Parish Council in 2016 hoping to support and increase the opportunities for educational growth within the Parish.
Marie Stewart, Spirituality Chair
Marie Stewart has been a registered parishioner of Holy Rosary since moving from Memphis, TN with her daughter 2 years ago. Though she grew up a member of St. Stephens, she frequented Holy Rosary with her grandparents, Stanley and Marilyn Weglarz, and later, Stanley and Renee Weglarz. While in Memphis, she served the parish of St. Ann-Bartlett as the Young Adult Spiritual Coordinator, Cursillo Representative, and Teen Minister; organizing and facilitating a diocesan-wide Charism workshop, numerous small groups, and parish witness dinners. Here at Holy Rosary, she serves as CYO facilitator, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and teacher of CCD and Children's Liturgy. Her goal is to help Holy Rosary through dynamic spiritual activities, battle the challenge of today, "the need to respond adequately to many people's thirst for God." -Pope Francis, "The Joy of the Gospel"
Patty Sullivant, Parish Life Chair
Patty has attended Holy Rosary since moving to the Donelson area over 30 years ago. She and husband Gary have three children Rebecca, Pearce, and Virginia all graduates of Holy Rosary Academy. As a personal hobby she loves to "play in the dirt" (garden). Patty has a curiosity about people and what motivates them. She would like to focus this energy in helping our parishoners and the council create a greater sense of community through outreach and activites. Patty has spent her career working as a Human Resource professional at Deloitte and prior to that at Gaylord Opryland.
